I believe there is a huge distinction between being spiritual and religious. I can not say that I am an overly religious person. I do not attend church on a regular basis, but I do have strong faith in my beliefs. To me, organized religion is like organized crime. There are tons of rules and regulation, ceremonies and rituals. Most of which were designed, not by the creator, but by man as a security blanket, and humans by nature are selfish fickle creatures. Changing things to suit their desires. If they don't like something, that goes with the specific section of their religion that they belong to. "Oh hurry change it quick." I don't believe it's that easy. I believe that whatever laws or life guidelines that my creator has set before me, I must follow regardless of weather I want to or not, he is the one I will heed and obey. And who gives me these law or guidelines? Why,my creator himself. How do I know what I am or am not supposed to be doing? By finding the answers through prayer and by listening to my heart and it's inner convictions, not by sitting in some church listening to a man preach. For if I am supposed to being doing or not doing something, my creator will put the conviction into my heart to either do it or not. It will not be given to me by some man who does not truely know himself what life is going to bring. A man up on a pedestal that his congregation is so in awe of him and his righteousness that they in essence worship him. Who is he that I must worship him? He is but a man like any other. He has faults and flaws. He sins. So yes I see a huge difference betweent the two. Spirituality is something that we feel inside of us with all our hearts and belief it unconditionally. Religion is a set of man made rules, regulations, and rituals that men follow that are hallow, empty and full of coruption.
