You didnt answer my question. If we are insignificant compared to god (as you admitted) why does he care if we worship him or not?

I am superior to ants in many ways. I can control them, subdue them, kill hundreds of them in a matter of minutes, I am stronger than they are, wiser, smarter and just superior to them in many ways. And yet, I do not expect them to worship me just because of that, nor am I expected to worship people who are smarter, stronger than I am.

My post had nothing to do with judging people either... wtf are you responding to?

To answer your question godlessguitarmaestro we know that we are nothing compared to God But we all procceed to get better and be perfect like God and As a christian on earth we don't care about anything bad that anyone says about us because God knows us better than we know ourselves. So no one can judge God people. So you Remember that God is more important than actions. Peace

The while light represent enlightenment, and you CAN get there if you replace your mysticism and superstition with skepticism and reason. The stairs represent skepticism and intellectual honesty.

What you are saying is that your religion is not about being good, its about worshipping god. It doesnt matter how good or bad you are to others, how many people you kill or save, how many smiles you are responsible for, how many sorrows, how much you love or hate people... Its all about worshipping and feeding the ego of your god. You could be the worst guy in history, kill babies every day and even commit genocide... AS LONG AS YOU WORSHIP GOD you will be forgiven.

So in other words, there is nothing moral about this, its all about authority. God has no interest in having a flock of good people that follow him. What he wants is a flock of people that worship him, and they can be good or bad, thats irrelevant.

But I think we should look at the bible first... I believe one of the commandments talks about what we should do in respect to killing others. But who cares right? Its just the old testament lol

Why is god so interested in being worshipped by us if according to the scriptures and many christians we are nothing compared to him..? It would be like humans getting exited over a group of ants making a statue of him. It makes no sense at all... If I was as awesome as christians claim god is I would not even care about humans or what they thought about me.

Why would you believe something that makes you something so insignificant? You are nothing but a speck of dust in god's eyes. He could killl you accidentally and nothing would happen, nobody cared. If he killed you just for fun, just because he was bored, or anything like that you would not complain would you? And what kind of evidence do you have that this thing you speak of even exists?

I think you are merely trying to repackage your own prejudices by spinning this into some kind of rant about love and how it should be embraced.

In fact, I would believe that any honest person would not take somebody else's person seriously when thinking about friendships or amorous relationships. Lets say you were trying to meet someone new at school or at work and you came back home everyday alone, without friends. FAmily members would then ask why, and you would reply with "Everyone there is Jewish, I cant hold them close to my heart because they are Jewish".

Its a lot like the white supremasist who refuses to intermingle with blacks and the lunatic catholics who abhorred homosexual relationships. You are just trying to justify segregation and prejudice. Or perhaps you are just insecure in your beliefs and you wouldnt want to have someone near you who, understand what you believe, and still does not believe it entirely, he/she believes something else.

If you love someone, a friend or lover, you dont care about their faith. My girlfriend is catholic, and I am an atheist. In fact, I am an anti-theist. I hate what the catholic church stands for, and all the other religions as well. But I am with my girlfriend because of who she is, and I accept her and recognize that we do not have to agree on supernatural matters to have a meaningful relationship.

You then realize its not important. What a person believes is irrelevant until you see what actions actually manifest from those beliefs. Are you telling me you would rather marry some pompous, stupid and egotistical bitch that shared your beliefs, or the nice, lovable and nurturing heathen? You would be either an idiot, or some kind of freak to prefer the mean one over the nice one. If religion plays that much of a factor in your decision making then you really need to put things into perspective brother.

Well, but Jesus did come here to divide after all correct?

I don't know if I believe you on that exactly...faith doesn't get in the way of them, faith simply intercedes for us and helps uncloud our judgement on things that truly matter. If people are to hold someone close to their heart, then faith should go with that as wel. I don't know how you could date someone who is in different faith then you for that reason.

hehe, i feel the same way sometimes.. any way I am Tamika, and I would love to share. I have grown alot the last year and have a ways to go. I love the Lord and I seek peace. I attend weekly groups with my church and my husband and I have nightly and weekly devotionals. It's not always easy walking the walk and that is why it is so important to have christian friends.

Faith is believing in something you can't see. I have faith in God and because faith lives in God and I can't see God but I believe he excist. My faith is in God's Word "The Holy Bible" that is the only thing that gives me faith, is believing every word and trusting every word and so I believe in Jesus Christ the son of God, and I have faith he will come again. The Holy Spirit is God's spirit which lives in those who believe in God's word and who have accepeted Jesus into thier hearts. So faith is believing in the trinity the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit are all one. So I live by faith (by God's Word), I walk by faith (I follow Jesus's examples), and faith lives in me (the Holy Spirit guides my heart, my steps and my and my mind).

I am a 24/7 care giver for my mother in law with Alzhiemers/Dementia. I've been carring for her now for 3plus yrs. I have 15yrs experiance working in convelecnt and assistant living homes and I knew this was my calling since I was 10, helping the elderly with any thing they needed. It is a hummbeling job, low to no pay and alot of work. So I serve my community by carring for the elderly. I cant get any one to cover for me so I can go to church. When God call for me to help another, I GO.
